A delegation of leaders of the largest Sunni bloc in the Iraqi Parliament will head for Washington DC to hold talks with US lawmakers, Radio Sawa reports in Arabic.

Sources inside the Tawafuq Front confirmed with the US-funded broadcaster that the delegation will present the bloc's position on the Maliki government and the Iraqi political process established after the US invasion of 2003.

The delegation will include top leaders of the Front, Radio Sawa reports, citing its sources inside the bloc, including MPs Adnan al-Dulaimi, the head of the Front, Khalaf al-'Ilyan, leader of one of the three parties that form the Tawafuq coalition, and Dhahir al-'Ani, a senior Tawafuq MP.

The broadcaster did not specify the dates of the planned delegation, but reported that its source inside the bloc said the group would depart "soon."

Dulaimi reiterated his frustration with the Maliki government's "ignoring" earlier grievances raised by the 44-seat bloc in the Parliament, Radio Sawa reports, repeating the bloc's threat to withdraw from the political process if its demands for a "purge" in the security forces, and political reforms are not addressed.
