Northern Bridge Destroyed in Attack
Bombing Target Mosul's Links to the West -- CORRECTED
A police source in Mosul said unknown gunmen detonated two car bombs on both sides of Badoush bridge in northern Iraq bringing down the bridge with no casualties, VOI writes.
"Unknown gunmen blew up Badoush bridge this afternoon after they placed and remotely detonated two car bombs near both sides of the bridge," Brigadier Abul-Karim al-Juburi, head of Ninewa police operations room, told VOI.
Badoush bridge spanned the Tigris northwest of Mosul, connecting the capital city of Nineva province, to districts of Talafar and Rabia near the Iraqi border with Syria in western Nineva province.
Al-Juburi said "the attack left no casualties."
An earlier version of this report indicated that the Aski bridge, East of Mosul, had also been destroyed, according to the VOI news agency.
According to a Slogger tipster, the Aski bridge is still intact.
