The Islamic State of Iraq -- Al Qaeda -- today claimed its forces are holding three US troops who survived a clash between Islamic State of Iraq forces and US troops yesterday just south of Baghdad.

News outlets attributed the claim to multiple postings on Web sites used previously by the Islamic State of Iraq to make announcements.

Five troops -- four US and one Iraqi -- were killed in the attack on their convoy yesterday, with three soldiers going missing.
