Basra- British forces killed on Sunday two gunmen in clashes that erupted in the southern Iraqi city of Basra, the Multi-National forces in southern Iraq said.
Anbar- An explosive charge detonated on Sunday near a U.S. vehicle patrol in Ramadi, 110 km west of Baghdad, damaging a tank, an eyewitness said.
Anbar- An Iraqi policeman was killed on Sunday when security forces clashed with gunmen in Haditha city, west of Baghdad, an eyewitness said.
Baghdad- A woman was killed on Sunday along with her infant when mortar rounds fell into a village in southeast of Baghdad, an eyewitness said.
Hilla- A civilian was wounded on Sunday morning when an explosive charge detonated in Hilla city, 100 km south of Baghdad, a police source said.
Baghdad- An Iraqi policeman was killed and two civilians were wounded on Sunday morning in a car bomb blast in eastern Baghdad, an eyewitness said.
Falluja- An Iraqi army base was fully destroyed on Sunday morning when a truck crammed with explosives detonated in eastern Falluja, leaving an unidentified number of casualties, a police source said.
Baghdad- Iraqi security forces arrested two leading members of the so-called al-Qaeda Organization in Iraq, the official spokesman for the law-imposing security plan said on Sunday.
Baghdad- Nine U.S. soldiers in Iraq were killed and 10 others wounded in separate military operations and accidents in Baghdad and the provinces of Diala and al-Anbar on Friday and Saturday, the U.S. army said on Sunday.
Baghdad- At least four civilians were killed and nine others wounded on Sunday afternoon when a car bomb went off in a popular market in northeastern Baghdad, a police source said.
Diala- At least seven civilians were killed and four others wounded on Sunday when gunmen launched an attack on Hibhib town, Diala province, a security source said.
Kirkuk- Two Iraqi policemen were killed and two more wounded when an explosive charge went off near their patrol vehicle in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, a local police source said.
Mosul- Iraqi police said on Sunday a policeman was killed and four unidentified bodies were found in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
